Hilarioous · Entzopedia Technologies Limited
Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
Hilarioous is a comedy site operated in connection with Entzopedia Technologies Limited. This policy explains what we collect when you read, subscribe, comment, or create an account, and what we do not do with it.
1. Who this covers
“We”, “us”, and “the site” mean the Hilarioous website. “You” means a reader, a subscriber, or someone with an account. Reading stories does not require an account. Creating an account, saving stories, reacting, commenting while signed in, or submitting a story does.
2. Information you give us
- Account details: email address, password (stored by our authentication provider as a hash, not as plain text we can read), display name, username, bio, and an avatar if you upload one.
- Consent records: the time you accept the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, and whether you want story emails.
- Newsletter: the email you type and the time you tick the consent box.
- Stories you submit and messages you send through the contact form: the name, email, and text you provide.
- Comments: the name you choose and the comment. Signed-in comments are also tied to your account so you can edit or delete your own.
- Reports: the reason you write when you flag a story, meme card, or comment.
3. Information collected as you use the site
A story view can store a daily hash so the same browser is not counted twice that day. We do not store the raw network address in that view record. If you are signed in, we also keep a reading-history row (which story, and when) so your dashboard can show it. Saved stories, meme cards, and reactions (😂 ❤️ 😭 🤣) are stored against your account.
The host and the database provider keep ordinary technical logs, such as the time of a request and a browser identifier, to run and protect the service. We do not sell those logs.
4. Cookies and similar storage
Sign-in uses cookies so the browser stays logged in. A small local value remembers your light or dark theme and a rate-limit bucket for public forms. We do not run a third-party advertising cookie. If you block cookies, the public stories still load, and sign-in will not stick.
5. Why we use it
- To publish the site and remember the preferences you set.
- To send the newsletter only if you asked for it, and to stop when you unsubscribe or turn story emails off in settings.
- To moderate comments, submissions, and reports.
- To keep the editor tools limited to accounts marked as editors.
- To investigate abuse, such as a report of private information in a story.
6. Who else handles it
The database and sign-in service are Supabase. The public site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Those providers process data so the site can run. We do not sell personal information and we do not hand your email to advertisers. A story you submit may be edited and published with the name you asked us to show. That published text is public.
7. How long we keep it
Account data stays until you delete the account from settings, or until we remove it because the account was unused and you asked us to. Newsletter rows stay until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Comments stay until you delete your own, an editor removes them, or the story is removed. Server logs follow the host’s ordinary retention. Published stories can remain on the site after an account is deleted, without your email attached.
8. Your choices
- Read the public site without an account.
- Turn story emails off in account settings, or use the unsubscribe line when a newsletter exists.
- Edit your profile, username, avatar, and password.
- Delete your account from settings. That calls a database function which removes the sign-in user. Saved items, reactions, and history tied to the account go with it.
- Ask for a copy or a correction of the account details we hold by using the contact form. Say which email the account uses.
We do not promise a specific response time. We do read contact messages.
9. Children
Hilarioous is written for a general adult audience. Do not create an account if you are under the age required to consent to these terms where you live. We do not knowingly collect account data from children.
10. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use an account after that date means the new policy applies to new activity. The contact form is the way to ask a question about this page.
